4D IMAGE OF A BABY IN THE WOMB IS AVAILABLE TO ALL PREGNANT MUMS

FOUR DIMENSIONAL IMAGE OF BABY IN THE WOMB AVAILABLE

SHE’S not even born yet but already Jess Jeffery knows her daughter is a little bit cheeky.

The Hervey Bay mum, in Queensland Australia who is 30 weeks pregnant, had a 4D scan of her baby, who she has named Layla, but she was unable to see her at first because she was holding her hands in front of her face.

She asked her mum Tracey to talk to the baby to see if that would make her move her hands and give them a clear view of her face.

That was when her little girl poked her tongue out at them.

Jess had 4D scans done when she had her older daughter, Lilly, 2, so she already knew how amazing it was to see her baby in high definition while she was still in the womb.

She said it cost $150 to have the scan but it was money well spent.

“I’m so happy,” she said.

“She looks exactly like Lilly.”

Having a 4D scan is much like having a 3D scan but the 4D images, with time as the fourth dimension, are moving 3D images of the baby.

Mums are often given a recording of their babies moving around in the womb if they have a 4D scan.

The best time to have a 3D or 4D scan is between 26 and 30 weeks.
